Very important, please pay attention! Dengue Fever in the Tashan District

update date : 2023-12-06
There are multiple local cases of dengue fever in the Tashan District. If you go to the areas of "Yinghua Dapai," "Qiongzi Lake," and "Yixuekeng," please take mosquito prevention measures.

The New Taipei City Health Department would like to provide information based on meteorological data indicating the recent impact of the northeasterly monsoon. With significant temperature differences between day and night and increased chances of rainfall, the conditions are conducive to the survival and activity of disease-carrying mosquitoes. Any stagnant water can become a breeding ground for these mosquitoes. Citizens are advised to pay attention to staying warm, enhance environmental inspections, and engage in the removal of stagnant water and reduction of containers. Implementing the "patrol, pour, clean, and brush" strategy is crucial to minimize the breeding of disease-carrying mosquitoes and collectively prevent the continued spread of dengue fever. Failure to proactively eliminate mosquito breeding sources, upon discovery of mosquito larvae in stagnant water containers, may result in fines of up to NT$15,000. Refusal, evasion, or obstruction of disease prevention efforts may incur fines of up to NT$300,000.

The New Taipei City Health Department also reminds the public that when going to areas where dengue fever is prevalent or when seeing warning signs indicating high dengue fever risk areas set up by the city government, it is essential to take effective mosquito prevention measures. If symptoms such as fever, headache, retro-orbital pain, muscle pain, bone pain, joint pain, rash, nausea, and abdominal pain, indicative of dengue fever, occur, seek medical attention promptly and proactively inform healthcare providers of your travel and contact history.
